Eco Cluster

Recycling LogoWe are very impressed with the work that the Aylsham Cluster Eco Warriors and other pupils are involved in to consider environmental issues. The Aylsham Cluster is one of the first group of schools to be working together to share ideas and lobby for change.

Here is a taste of just some of the things that they are leading:

  • Encouraging adults to share lifts to school
  • Encouraging pupils to walk or cycle to school
  • Taking part in projects to reduce the carbon footprint of schools and families
  • Encouraging healthy eating
  • Urging people to recycle things at home
  • Pupils growing their own vegetables
  • Encouraging people to recycle mobile phones, ink cartridges, cardboard and paper
  • Girl Planting TreeUsing recycled materials for artwork
  • Encouraging others to dispose of their rubbish sensibly
  • Thinking creatively about alternative means of transport to school
  • Developing pond areas to encourage wildlife
  • Installing new taps to use less water
  • Campaigning for people to switch off lights when not needed
  • Encouraging ‘waste free’ packed lunches
  • Working with partner organizations such as RSPB and Norfolk Wildlife Trust
  • Encouraging people to turn their waste into compost
